Public Health Internship Opportunity<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The New Orleans Regional AIDS Planning Council (NORAPC) is seeking graduate student interns to assist with planning council activities (i.e., administrative support, literature review, special projects). NORAPC is a HIV\/AIDS service planning body working in collaboration with the Mayor\u2019s Office of Health Policy (grantee for Federal Ryan White Part A funds). The agency\u2019s mission is to ensure the provision of a high quality continuum of HIV treatment and care for People Living with HIV\/AIDS in the New Orleans Eligible Metropolitan Area (Orleans, Jefferson, St. John the Baptist, St. Charles, St. James, St. Bernard, St. Tammany and Plaquemines parishes). <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Internship opportunities are ongoing at NORAPC. Capstone and special study projects can be arranged. Please inquire within.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsibilities: <\/span><\/strong>Under supervision of the Health Planner, in conjunction with the Program Director, assist with the following duties:<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

75% Time: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Participate in community meetings and outreach activities<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Conduct internet research regarding service delivery models<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Conduct other literature searches as needed<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist with data collection and needs assessment activities<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Data entry and coordination of other volunteers<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist with report writing and developing presentations\/trainings<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Assist with administrative activities (i.e. meeting coordination, minute taking and\/or proofing)<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

25% Time: <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Assist with in-office organization<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00b7 <\/span><\/span><\/span>Other duties as needed<\/span><\/p>\n

Qualifications<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Graduate student enrolled in a health science or public health program<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Computer skills to include MS Word and PowerPoint; knowledge of MS Access and SPSS a plus<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Some knowledge of HIV\/AIDS a bonus<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Ability to work independently<\/span><\/p>\n

Total Hours<\/span><\/strong>: 5 – 10 hours per week<\/span><\/p>\n
