The Prevention Development and Evaluation Branch (PDEB) supports intramural and extramural violence prevention research projects. Efforts include the prevention of youth violence, child maltreatment, sexual violence, intimate partner violence, and suicide.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"color:blue;\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Fellowship Overview: <\/strong>The fellow will contribute to health economics research related to violence prevention strategies, programs, and policies. Specifically, the fellow will assist in the administration of extramural projects (cooperative agreements and contracts); provide assistance to extramural grantees on all aspects of program operations, including budget and fiscal matters and scientific regulatory processes (e.g., IRB\/OMB); provide technical assistance and research support to health economists and policy researchers for multiple research projects on violence prevention; contribute to all aspects of preparing, analyzing, and disseminating research projects and findings; conduct data analyses; develop tables and graphics for data presentation; and collaborate in preparing studies for reports and scientific journals.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><strong>Qualifications: <\/strong>This fellowship is open to all citizens of the United   States or legal permanent residents with a work authorization. Applicants are responsible for obtaining the necessary work authorization. Applicants must have successfully completed a master\u2019s degree or higher in economics, public policy, public health or a related field (e.g. statistics, criminology, sociology).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Experience and\/or applied coursework in (a) research methods and study design; (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data; and (c) applying statistical techniques such as simple and multiple correlation, regression modeling, analysis of variance, and significance testing is highly desirable. Skill in using SAS, STATA, SPSS, SUDAAN, or other statistical software for complex quantitative data is expected.
