Presents a spring 2009 paid practicum opportunity<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

with Liberty\u2019s Kitchen in New Orleans<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The\u00a0Prevention Research Center at Tulane University is looking for a student with strong leadership skills and initiative to develop and implement a plan for monitoring and evaluating<\/strong> the impact of <\/span>Liberty\u2019s Kitchen<\/strong> on the youth it employs.<\/span> <\/span>Liberty’s Kitchen is a social enterprise that aims to transform the lives of New Orleans’ youth by providing a path to self-sufficiency through food service-based training, leadership and employment programs<\/span>.<\/span><\/span> For more information on Liberty\u2019s Kitchen, visit their Web site at <\/strong><\/span>www.libertyskitchen.org<\/a>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The selected student will receive a $3,375 stipend<\/strong><\/span><\/span> <\/strong>from the Prevention Research Center<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/strong>to complete <\/span>300 hours<\/strong> of work. <\/span><\/strong>This internship can fulfill the graduation requirement for a <\/span><\/span>200-hour practicum<\/span><\/strong> and\u00a0a <\/span><\/span>100-hour<\/span><\/strong> <\/span><\/span>culminating experience<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 Please consult with your advisor to determine if this internship is a good fit with your academic and professional interests and your department’s requirements.\u00a0 Interns are required to fulfill all reporting requirements mandated by the School\u2019s practicum manual. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The internship position\u00a0will\u00a0begin this spring, but may continue past the\u00a0spring semester depending on student availability and the organization\u2019s specific needs. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This internship is limited to <\/span><\/span>master-level<\/span><\/strong> public health students at Tulane University. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
