{"id":696,"date":"2008-12-18T14:18:51","date_gmt":"2008-12-18T19:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mchtulane.wordpress.com\/?p=571"},"modified":"2008-12-18T14:18:51","modified_gmt":"2008-12-18T19:18:51","slug":"spring-internship-the-policy-research-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thatscourtney.space\/blueprint\/spring-internship-the-policy-research-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Spring Internship &#8211; The Policy &amp; Research Group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The Policy &amp; Research Group<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Spring Semester 2009 Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li> Strong Organizational skills<\/li>\n<li> Detail Oriented<\/li>\n<li> Excellent communication and computer skills<\/li>\n<li> Experience using Word and Excel<\/li>\n<li> Interest in social programs, research &amp; writing<\/li>\n<li> Commitment to our mission to &#8220;develop programs and policies that help people&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Duties:<\/p>\n<p>The intern will assist Research Analysts and Senior Research Analysts with grant writing and evaluation projects. Activities will depend upon project needs, but may include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li> General office duties such as photocopying, filing, organizing, making phone calls, scheduling meetings, preparing documents<\/li>\n<li> Data entry (scanning surveys, entering and cleaning data)<\/li>\n<li> Data gathering, such as conducting brief interviews<\/li>\n<li> Reviewing and abstracting published research<\/li>\n<li> Prospecting for grant funds<\/li>\n<li> Preparing grant application narratives, budgets and forms<\/li>\n<li> Basic data analysis using Excel or STATA (descriptive statistics, chart preparation)<\/li>\n<li> Copy editing of reports<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Start date: February 2, 2009<\/p>\n<p>Vacation\/ benefits: none<\/p>\n<p>Pay: $12\/ hr<\/p>\n<p>Hours: 10-15 hours\/ week.
