The Clinton Foundation HIV\/AIDS Initiative (CHAI) is seeking an individual with excellent quantitative and communication skills to lead efforts on creating and using complex computer models for macro-level resource forecasting exercises within the Consortium for Strategic HIV Operations Research (CSHOR). This individual will report to the CSHOR Research Director and the Director of Pharmaceutical Services, and will work closely with collaborators at WHO, UNAIDS, and UNITAID. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Description<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

CSHOR is a division of CHAI that works to support HIV treatment programs in resource-limited settings using operations research (OR) methods. CSHOR\u2019s work focuses on policy analyses and the development and application of computer models to optimize the use of resources for HIV treatment on a clinic, national, or global level. CSHOR is also developing new models to simulate the operations of HIV laboratories and pharmacies as well as models to assist in scaling up HIV prevention activities and treatment for tuberculosis and malaria. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

CSHOR has been working at the forefront of global efforts to forecast resources required to scale-up HIV treatment in low and middle-income countries, with extensive collaborations with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Programme on AIDS (UNAIDS), UNITAID, and others, using computer modeling. These models are central to the Clinton Foundation\u2019s work with antiretroviral suppliers to lower drug prices and to efforts on the part of WHO and UNAIDS to ensure that adequate resources are in place to continue expanding access to HIV treatment worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n

Responsibilities<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The analyst will have responsibility for developing and running macro-level forecasts of HIV treatment resources, including drugs and laboratory supplies. The job will entail significant computer programming and data analysis, but also requires writing and communication with Clinton Foundation staff and our partners in the international health community and representation of the Clinton Foundation in international meetings. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Work with CHAI partner teams to identify needs for global-level resource forecasts;<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Modify and use existing computer models and create new models as needed;<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Communicate forecast methodologies and outputs to CHAI staff and partners.<\/span><\/p>\n

Skills\/Experience Required<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Excellent quantitative and computer skills<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Attention to detail<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong problem solving skills and analytical capabilities<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Strong computer programming skills (SAS a plus)<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience with database development and applications<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Familiarity with HIV\/AIDS care and treatment <\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Experience working\/living in resource-limited settings desired<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Ability to multi-task and to be effective in high-pressure situations<\/span><\/p>\n

\u25aa <\/span><\/span><\/span>Excellent communication skills \u2013 both written and oral<\/span><\/p>\n
