Position: TFL Regional Coordinator, Region IV, Lafayette<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL)<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Master\u2019s degree in Public Health or related field preferred<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Undergraduate degree required<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Experience working on community change, outreach, mobilization, and\/or<\/span><\/p>\n

capacity building programs preferred<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Experience in tobacco prevention and control an asset<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>Experience working on local Louisiana health programs preferred<\/span><\/p>\n

Position Summary:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As a staff member of The Louisiana Campaign for Tobacco-Free Living (TFL), TFL<\/p>\n

Regional Coordinators are responsible for the coordination and implementation of TFL<\/p>\n

programs and initiatives in their region, including policy change initiatives. TFL Regional<\/p>\n

Coordinators communicate local developments and regional programs to the TFL<\/p>\n

Program Manager for Community Capacity and Mobilization, to fellow TFL Regional<\/p>\n

Coordinators and to TFL Program Coordinators through regularly scheduled meetings<\/p>\n

and reports. TFL Regional Coordinators are based out of Office of Public Health (OPH)<\/p>\n

offices throughout the nine OPH public health regions in Louisiana. This particular<\/p>\n

position is housed in OPH\u2019s Region IV (Lafayette) Regional Office. This position reports<\/p>\n

to TFL\u2019s Program Manager, Community Capacity and Mobilization.<\/p>\n

<\/span> <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

Duties and Responsibilities:<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Maintain a regional office to serve as a site for planning and development of TFL<\/p>\n

programs and initiatives<\/p>\n

2. Co-chair the Regional Tobacco and Cancer Prevention and Control Coalition<\/p>\n

3. Compile program reports for TFL\u2019s Program Manager, Community Capacity and<\/p>\n

Mobilization other TFL staff<\/p>\n

4. Work with TFL staff to keep detailed records of community mobilization and<\/p>\n

relationship building efforts in the region<\/p>\n

5. Coordinate with local organizations and TFL partners to evaluate effectiveness of<\/p>\n

programs and desired changes and developments<\/p>\n

6. Work with TFL staff to assist in the implementation of media campaigns and<\/p>\n

corresponding initiatives<\/p>\n

7. Coordinate with TFL\u2019s Program Manager, Community Capacity and Mobilization<\/p>\n

and other TFL staff to identify opportunities to collaborate on statewide tobacco<\/p>\n

prevention and control programs and initiatives<\/p>\n

8. Assist in developing regional partnerships with related public health organizations<\/p>\n

and community interest groups on programming opportunities in tobacco<\/p>\n

prevention and control<\/p>\n

9. Coordinate tobacco prevention and control programming with other TFL Regional<\/span><\/p>\n

Coordinators statewide<\/span><\/p>\n

10. Provide technical assistance and support to community-based organizations<\/span><\/p>\n

(grantees or community partners) involved in TFL activities<\/span><\/p>\n

11. Other duties as assigned<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. Ability to think proactively and function independently<\/p>\n

2. Ability to approach tasks in a solutions-orientated manner and with an<\/p>\n

entrepreneurial spirit<\/p>\n

3. Strong networking and interpersonal skills and experience working with<\/p>\n

individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds<\/p>\n

4. Strong skills in written and oral communications to represent the program to<\/p>\n

community members, statewide smoking prevention initiatives, state and local<\/p>\n

government representatives<\/p>\n

5. Experience in formal report writing an asset<\/p>\n

6. Ability to maintain a highly detail-oriented approach while maintaining an<\/p>\n

appreciation of the long-term goals and objectives of the program<\/p>\n

7. Knowledge of the different regional areas of Louisiana, specifically the one you<\/p>\n

are applying for<\/p>\n

8. Ability to oversee many tasks at once<\/p>\n

9. Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed<\/p>\n

10. Ability to travel statewide several times a year<\/p>\n

11. Working knowledge of Microsoft Applications, including:<\/p>\n
