\nPublic Health Nurses – Bilingual (Spanish)<\/p>\n
At the Chicago Department of Public Health you will work with a team of
\npassionate and dedicated professionals who contribute to maintain the
\nhealth population of 77 neighborhoods at more than 40 sites that
\nincludes providing health promotion, prevention and education for the
\nCity’s population.<\/p>\n
Duties:
\n* Will provide professional nursing care to individuals in a
\ncommunity environment; conduct physical examinations to assess client’s
\nhealth status; administer prescribed medications according to department
\nprotocols; develop and implements nursing care plans for patients;
\neducate and instruct individuals in health education, disease
\nprevention, nutrition, and child care.<\/p>\n
* Conducts health assessments; provides treatments, immunizations,
\neducation, and other nursing interventions; organizes caseloads,
\nprocesses billing and health information; provides nursing care to all
\ntypes of clients, such as, pediatric, women’s health and adult health as
\ndetermined by the need for nursing services. Performs other duties as
\nassigned.<\/p>\n
Note: Bi-lingual (Spanish) candidates will be given first consideration.<\/p>\n
Requirements :<\/p>\n
* Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse, supplemented
\nby two years of work experience in ambulatory care nursing, OR a
\nBachelor’s of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited
\nNational League for Nursing (NLN) program with a license to practice as
\na Registered Nurse. Applicants must possess a valid State of Illinois
\nRegistered Nurse license at the time of employment. BSN new grads
\nwelcome to apply!<\/p>\n
Note: Level II Public Health Nurses require at least one (1) year of
\nwork experience in public health nursing.<\/p>\n
