Position Description: The Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center
\n(NMCPHC) announces the opening of a position for an epidemiologist to
\nprovide expert consultation, technical assistance, and state of the art
\nexpertise in epidemiology and public health in support of the Department
\nof the Navy. Duties will include providing oversight and guidance for
\nongoing preventive medicine and surveillance programs, consulting on
\nepidemiological investigations, evaluating program effectiveness,
\ndesigning and conducting epidemiologic studies, and identifying and
\nmonitoring critical outcome measures. This position may involve staff
\nmentoring. Expectations of this position include formal and informal
\npresentations to decision makers, communication with customers including
\nsenior level officials, poster and oral presentations at recognized
\nnational and international conferences, technical writing, and published
\nmanuscripts in peer reviewed journals.<\/p>\n
Qualifications: An MPH or academic equivalent is preferred with at least
\nthree years of public health or preventive medicine experience.
\nExperience with military health systems is a plus.<\/p>\n

\ndisease\/injury surveillance activities involving the collection,
