{"id":626,"date":"2008-08-20T09:33:40","date_gmt":"2008-08-20T14:33:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mchtulane.wordpress.com\/?p=371"},"modified":"2008-08-20T09:33:40","modified_gmt":"2008-08-20T14:33:40","slug":"latin-american-youth-center","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thatscourtney.space\/blueprint\/latin-american-youth-center\/","title":{"rendered":"Latin American Youth Center"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Prevention Team   Leader<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>DIVISION: Social Services Division<br \/>\nCATEGORY: Full Time<\/p>\n<p><strong>General Description:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Prevention Team Leader coordinates and supervises the day-to day   operations of the following programs: SAMHSA\/CSAP (Substance Abuse, HIV, HEP,   STI) Prevention, Family to Family Mentorship, Responsible Fatherhood, Teen   Health Promoters, and Project RISE (Substance Abuse prevention).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Coordinates and oversees all phases of the        planning, implementation, development and evaluation of the Social        Services Prevention programs, making sure that goals and objectives are        met in accordance to proposals and approved strategic plan;<\/li>\n<li>Initiates the recruitment process by        rewieving\/updating\u00a0 job descriptions and submitting\u00a0 them to        the Division Director for review and approval; takes the lead in the        coordination of the interview process and assures that necessary        documentation is provided to the HR Department. Provides orientation and        training to new staff;<\/li>\n<li>Trains, supervises and evaluates staff        performance according to LAYC standards;<\/li>\n<li>Monitors budget and controls program        expenditures;<\/li>\n<li>Seeks program funding and participates in        the preparation of grant proposals;<\/li>\n<li>Supervises staff and consolidates team        training needs. Makes sure that staff have access to on-site and        off-site training opportunities;<\/li>\n<li>Serves as an agency liaison with funding        organizations;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates the preparation of monthly,        quarterly and annual reports;<\/li>\n<li>With the input of the Prevention Team        members, develops the strategic plan and ensures that\u00a0 goals and        objectives are achieved within planned time frame;<\/li>\n<li>Collaborates with other local, regional        and national organizations and schools in areas of mutual benefit (i.e.        health fairs, working groups, etc.);<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates the development of memoranda        of understanding with partnering agencies and monitors contracted        agreements;<\/li>\n<li>Conducts Prevention Team meetings and        individual progress meetings on a bi-monthly basis and documents        meetings with staff;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures that contractual and financial        documentation is updated;<\/li>\n<li>In coordination with the Prevention        Research Assistant, develops evaluation instruments to assess        programmatic outcomes; obtain ethical approval; and collect data from        youth, young adults, parents and other community stakeholders;<\/li>\n<li>Disseminates data through presentations at        conferences, meetings and events and participate in the writing of        peer-reviewed abstracts and papers;<\/li>\n<li>Prepares and delivers presentations about        program outcomes as needed;<\/li>\n<li>Conducts annual performance evaluation of        immediate supervisees;<\/li>\n<li>Tracks staff attendance, processes time        cards, and submits them to Human Resources;<\/li>\n<li>Coordinates the elaboration of the monthly        prevention calendar and submits to the Division Director along with the        monthly progress report by the last working day of each month;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures all program statistical and        narrative data is both current and accurate in the LAYC internal        evaluation system (ETO);<\/li>\n<li>Oversees that contractual reports are        completed, submits them to Division Director for review and comments;<\/li>\n<li>Attends bi-monthly meetings with Division        Director to discuss programmatic issues;<\/li>\n<li>Attends LAYC monthly management and        Division meetings;<\/li>\n<li>Improves professional skills by attending        workshops, seminars, and training sessions as required;<\/li>\n<li>Performs other activities specifically        assigned by the Social Services Division Director; and<\/li>\n<li>Adheres to all LAYC personnel policies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Masters in Public Health or related field<\/li>\n<li>Research experience<\/li>\n<li>At least two-year experience in prevention        activities: substance abuse, HIV\/AIDS;<\/li>\n<li>Experience working in a community-based        and multicultural setting<\/li>\n<li>Flexible schedule<\/li>\n<li>Complete Medical, FBI, and Child Abuse and        Neglect clearances<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Knowledge of youth development<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of statistical analyses<\/li>\n<li>Excellent oral and written communication        skills<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to relate to culturally diverse        population<\/li>\n<li>Fluency in English and Spanish<\/li>\n<li>Computer proficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Schedule:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n<li>Monday through Friday from 11:00am to        7:00pm<\/li>\n<li>Weekend and\/or evening hours as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Supervision:<\/strong><br \/>\nThis position reports to the Social Services Division Director.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To Apply:<\/strong><br \/>\nPlease email a cover letter and resume to: <a href=\"mailto:socialservicesjobs@layc-dc.org\">socialservicesjobs@layc-dc.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Prevention Team Leader coordinates and supervises the day-to day operations of the following programs: SAMHSA\/CSAP (Substance Abuse, HIV, HEP, STI) Prevention, Family to Family Mentorship, Responsible Fatherhood, Teen Health Promoters, and Project RISE (Substance Abuse prevention).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[5],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-626","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-general-posts"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.6 -
