APPLICANTS INTERVIEWED WILL BE ADVISED OF THE RESULTS OF THE INTERVIEW.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, U.S. Mission in Maputo is seeking an individual for the position of Public Health Specialist (Opportunistic Infection Services Advisor).<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The incumbent serves as the Opportunistic Infections (OI) Services Advisor, developing, implementing, coordinating, and supervising activities of various diagnostic and treatment programs conducted by CDC\/PEPFAR implementing partners, in the areas of HIV\/AIDS clinical services. Incumbent plays an essential role in developing Country Operational Plans (COP), annual work plans, and regular progress reports related to the delivery of OI Services\u00a0\u00a0 provides technical expertise and guidance for the implementation of these activities.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Medical doctor with a master&#8217;s degree in public health.<\/p>\n<p>2. A total of 5 years of progressively responsible HIV\/AIDS care and treatment services experience with one or more international agency systems in Southern Africa managing or delivering opportunistic infection HIV\/AIDS care and treatment services is required. At least three years of this experience must be in planning for activities, monitoring and evaluation, reporting on results and modifying interventions based on changing priorities as well as using evaluation results.<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Incumbent must have public health specialized knowledge of HIV\/AIDS care and treatment strategies as they pertain to OI service delivery. Must have sound public health knowledge of current HIV\/AIDS issues, including MOH policies, regulations, program priorities and key planning documents related to care and treatment of HIV infection.<\/p>\n<p>In-depth knowledge of monitoring and evaluation of medical care service delivery systems. Knowledge of general Ministry of Health strategies, guidelines and procedures for HIV programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. Knowledge and skill to obtain results and manage professional and support staff engaged in activities which impact directly on guidelines, fiscal and operational directives, etc. is required.<\/p>\n<p>4. Level IV English (fluency, speaking reading, writing)<\/p>\n<p>is required.\u00a0 Level III (good working knowledge, speaking and writing) Portuguese is required.<\/p>\n<p>5. Must have strong knowledge of theoretical and practical concepts of monitoring and evaluation, epidemiological surveillance, and complex survey methods required. Good working knowledge of techniques for training and\/or mentorship or other capacity building activities at an individual and group level.\u00a0 Must have demonstrated skills in qualitative and\/or quantitative analysis.<\/p>\n<p>6.
