Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Cancer Epidemiology with a Focus on Evaluation of and Intervention for Physical Performance Limitations.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>The Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Cancer Center in Memphis invites applications for a postdoctoral research training program in Cancer Epidemiology and Prevention.\u00a0 Candidates with terminal degrees in movement or exercise science, kinesiology, physical therapy, or rehabilitation science are encouraged to apply.<\/span>
\nThis 2-year position offers individualized research training in the evaluation of physical performance limitations, and the design and implementation of interventions to prevent or remediate functional loss in pediatric, adolescent and adult survivors of childhood onset cancer.\u00a0 There is an option for those without formal epidemiology training to complete a Masters of Science in Epidemiology. Fellows will have the opportunity to conduct research leading to scientific publications with nationally recognized faculty members in epidemiology.<\/p>\n

Requirements
\n<\/strong>Applicants should have or expect <\/strong>a doctoral level degree (PhD, MD, ScD) at time of application. They should have excellent quantitative, written and verbal skills and evidence of research scholarship.<\/p>\n

Other
\n<\/strong>St. Jude, an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center and the largest freestanding pediatric cancer center in the U.S., has a strong cancer prevention and control research program in the Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Control. The growing department is building an internationally-recognized program for the conduct of etiologic, behavioral, intervention and outcomes-based research in childhood cancer and cancer prevention.<\/p>\n
