I. General Description: The Prevention Team Leader coordinates and supervises the day-to day operations of the following programs: SAMHSA\/CSAP (Substance Abuse, HIV, HEP, STI) Prevention, Family to Family Mentorship, Responsible Fatherhood, Teen Health Promoters, and Project RISE (Substance Abuse prevention).<\/p>\n

II. Responsibilities<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinates and oversees all phases of the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of the Social Services Prevention programs, making sure that goals and objectives are met in accordance to proposals and approved strategic plan;<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Initiates the recruitment process by rewieving\/updating\u00a0 job descriptions and submitting\u00a0 them to the Division Director for review and approval; takes the lead in the coordination of the interview process and assures that necessary documentation is provided to the HR Department. Provides orientation and training to new staff;<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trains, supervises and evaluates staff performance according to LAYC standards;<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitors budget and controls program expenditures;<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Seeks program funding and participates in the preparation of grant proposals;<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Supervises staff and consolidates team training needs. Makes sure that staff have access to on-site and off-site training opportunities;<\/p>\n

7.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Serves as an agency liaison with funding organizations;<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Coordinates the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reports;<\/p>\n

9.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 With the input of the Prevention Team members, develops the strategic plan and ensures that\u00a0 goals and objectives are achieved within planned time frame;<\/p>\n

10.\u00a0 Collaborates with other local, regional and national organizations and schools in areas of mutual benefit (i.e. health fairs, working groups, etc.);<\/p>\n

11.\u00a0 Coordinates the development of memoranda of understanding with partnering agencies and monitors contracted agreements;<\/p>\n

12.\u00a0 Conducts Prevention Team meetings and individual progress meetings on a bi-monthly basis and documents meetings with staff;<\/p>\n

13.\u00a0 Ensures that contractual and financial documentation is updated;<\/p>\n

14.\u00a0 In coordination with the Prevention Research Assistant, develops evaluation instruments to assess programmatic outcomes; obtain ethical approval; and collect data from youth, young adults, parents and other community stakeholders;<\/p>\n

15.\u00a0 Disseminates data through presentations at conferences, meetings and events and participate in the writing of peer-reviewed abstracts and papers;<\/p>\n

16.\u00a0 Prepares and delivers presentations about program outcomes as needed;<\/p>\n

17.\u00a0 Conducts annual performance evaluation of immediate supervisees;<\/p>\n

18.\u00a0 Tracks staff attendance, processes time cards, and submits them to Human Resources;<\/p>\n

19.\u00a0 Coordinates the elaboration of the monthly prevention calendar and submits to the Division Director along with the monthly progress report by the last working day of each month;<\/p>\n

20.\u00a0 Ensures all program statistical and narrative data is both current and accurate in the LAYC internal evaluation system (ETO);<\/p>\n

21.\u00a0 Oversees that contractual reports are completed, submits them to Division Director for review and comments;<\/p>\n

22.\u00a0 Attends bi-monthly meetings with Division Director to discuss programmatic issues;<\/p>\n

23.\u00a0 Attends LAYC monthly management and Division meetings;<\/p>\n

24.\u00a0 Improves professional skills by attending workshops, seminars, and training sessions as required;<\/p>\n

25.\u00a0 Performs other activities specifically assigned by the Social Services Division Director; and<\/p>\n

26.\u00a0 Adheres to all LAYC personnel policies.<\/p>\n
