The Health Care Provider will, under limited supervision, provide Nursing technical assistance in resource limited settings. This position will be based in Rwanda and the selected candidate must be able to spend extended periods of time in resource limited settings throughout the country.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS<\/span>:<br \/>\n\u2022Assess patient health and provides diagnostic and therapeutic services. Exercise autonomy in medical decision making.<br \/>\n\u2022Monthly visits to each site and on as needed basis for needs assessment, precepting nurse coordinator and reviewing local challenges\/problem solving including evaluation of current skill level. Participate in training programs for nurse care, adherence and if needed, palliative care and support.<br \/>\n\u2022Establish uniform care delivery model for all sites that are implemented along with nurse coordinators from each site, CRS Rwanda and IHV staff.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li>Train nursing staff in HIV\/AIDS Nursing Care in Rwanda.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2022Develop teaching materials in conjunction with implementation of IHV curriculum and local partners when appropriate.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li>Assist with Quality Assurance and Quality improvement activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2022Participate in report writing, provide information, and act as a liaison and local partner treatment facility advocate between IHV, CRS and sites.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li>In accordance with state guidelines, may prescribe medications and therapies.<\/li>\n<li>May participate in research projects or clinical trials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li>The scope and complexity of duties requires a licensed Nurse Practitioner.<\/li>\n<li>The preferred candidate will have a BSN degree and be fluent in French.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2022Certification in HIV\/AIDS management and\/or Hospice and Palliative Care preferred.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li>Teaching experience though not required, is highly desirable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2022May require training related to occupational safety and health, environmental compliance, shipping of hazardous materials and\/or ionizing radiation.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration:underline;\">KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li>Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology.<\/li>\n<li>Skill in consulting with patients and families.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u2022Ability to stay current in emerging technology, best practices and techniques.<br \/>\n\u2022Excellent communications and time management skills.
