POSITION SUMMARY<\/strong><\/p>\n

Assist uptown Environmental Health & Safety Specialist (OEHS) with general safety compliance activities (inspections, conducting fire drills, investigating complaints\/incidents, etc.) on uptown campus.\u00a0 Responsible for ensuring technical and regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local air and water (waste water, storm water, drinking water) regulations University-wide.\u00a0 Evaluate laboratory and research facilities for compliance with recommended Bio-Safety Level (BSL) design and construction related to primary and secondary barriers of containment.\u00a0 Participates in OEHS Emergency On-Call Program for safety and health issues at Tulane.<\/p>\n

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health Sciences or related scientific field of study and two years of pertinent experience in environmental compliance, safety, or environmental health, or Master of Science degree in applicable area of study.<\/li>\n
  2. Work experience and\/or coursework in environmental health and safety areas such as, OSHA\/EPA compliance, Louisiana air and water regulations, laboratory safety, Bio-Safety, industrial hygiene and fire safety preferred.<\/li>\n
  3. University work experience preferred.<\/li>\n
  4. Excellent written and oral communication skills and computer proficiency in standard word processing, spreadsheet\/database, and presentation software required (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint preferred)”.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
