PELL is a unique relational data system that links large administrative and programmatic databases cross-sectionally and longitudinally.  The Research Data Analyst also will be responsible for data documentation, preparing study results for presentation and manuscript development, and assisting with statistical analyses and data management for other PELL-related projects.  Specific functions include the use of SAS to conduct statistical analyses of linked data, to ensure data quality, and to participate as a member of each study team and the PELL team.<\/p>\n<p>PELL, a powerful tool for surveillance, program evaluation, and research in Massachusetts, is a joint project of the Boston University School of Public Health (BUSPH), the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).<\/p>\n<p><strong>REPORTS TO: <\/strong>PELL Birth Defects Program Manager<\/p>\n<p><strong>EMPLOYER:<\/strong> Boston Univ.  School of Public Health<\/p>\n<p><strong>LOCATION:<\/strong> The position is physically located at the MA Department of Public Health, 250 Washington St., Boston.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HOURS:<\/strong> Full time.  Flexible hours are possible.  BU students are eligible for tuition remission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>COMPENSATION:<\/strong> Grade level 53, excellent benefits.  Boston  Univ. employees are eligible for tuition remission.<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul class=\"unIndentedList\">\n<li> Bachelor&#8217;s degree with courses in SAS, biostatistics, epidemiology, public health informatics, or equivalent. Master&#8217;s preferred.<\/li>\n<li> 1-3 years FTE SAS programming and data analysis.<\/li>\n<li> Preference given to candidates with background in public health, specifically maternal and child health.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>SKILLS\/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1.      Excellent knowledge of SAS<\/p>\n<p>2.      Experience conducting statistical analyses, including univariate, bivariate and multivariate analyses<\/p>\n<p>3.      Knowledge of statistical models, techniques, and assumptions<\/p>\n<p>4.      Experience working with large administrative datasets<\/p>\n<p>5.      Experience working with longitudinal data<\/p>\n<p>6.      Experience producing statistical reports, including tables and graphs<\/p>\n<p>7.      Knowledge of research methods and statistical report writing<\/p>\n<p>8.      Ability to work independently and with a team<\/p>\n<p>9.      Excellent oral and written communication skills in the English language<\/p>\n<p>10.
