Gender Based Violence Coordinator
\nLiberia<\/p>\n
The International Rescue Committee in Liberia has been programming on
\npreventing violence against women and girls since 2001. Today, IRC
\nLiberia implements Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention programs in
\nMontserrado, Lofa and Nimba Counties. The goal of the GBV Program in
\nLiberia is to enhance and encourage the ability of the Ministry of
\nGender and Development and local community structures to prevent and
\nrespond to GBV, put GBV issues on the national agenda, and create social
\nchange toward safe communities, social justice and equal rights for
\nwomen and girls in partnership with men and boys.<\/p>\n
Currently, GBV staff provide case management services for survivors in
\nMontserrado, Lofa and Nimba counties and work to enhance local capacity
\nto prevent and respond to GBV through awareness-raising, training,
\nmale-involvement and coordination of all actors in close collaboration
\nwith the Ministry of Gender. The GBV Coordinator will be responsible for
\nproviding strategic direction, leadership and overall technical and
\nmanagement assistance to the national program, developing new
\ninitiatives and liaising with key donors and stakeholders and
\ntransitioning the program from an emergency response program to one
\nimplemented within a community development framework.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS for this position include: Minimum five years’ overseas
\nwork experience administering large-scale community participatory
\ndevelopment and local governance projects and the ability to provide
\nstrategic leadership in complex post-conflict development environments.<\/p>\n
