Epidemiologist II
\nDepartment of Public Health<\/p>\n
DUTIES:
\n* Analyzes surveillance data to track the cause, effect and course
\nof epidemics including prevalence, incidence, time trends and risk
\nfactors on various populations
\n* Assists senior staff in the analysis of epidemiological data and
\nthe preparation of narrative reports describing the causes of morbidity
\nand morality
\n* Writes programs or uses various software included SAS to
\ngenerate complex data summaries, tables, charts and graphic displays or
\nto perform difficult manipulation of data
\n* Locates, organizes and summarizes epidemiological literature for
\ninclusion in reports or for use as background material on new areas of
\ninvestigation
\n* Assists senior staff in designing disease intervention programs
\nand recommends program changes based on the analysis of epidemiological
\ndata
\n* Validates the integrity of databases by generating tabular
\nsummaries to check for inconsistencies and devises statistical
\nprocedures to resolve discrepancies
\n* Assist in identifying new causes and risk factors associated
\nwith morbidity and mortality, conducting special studies and researching
\ninformation from local health agencies.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:
\nGraduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s
\ndegree in Statistics, Mathematics or a related field supplemented by
\nthree years of progressively responsible epidemiological experience, or
\nan equivalent combination of training and experience, provided the
\nminimum degree requirement is met.<\/p>\n

Salary: $55,872.00\/annually
