Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) is a national advocacy organization dedicated to promoting policy, program and research efforts to improve the health and well-being of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Founded in 1986, APIAHF approaches activities with the philosophy of coalition-building and developing capacity within local AAPI communities. We advocate on health issues of significance to Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities, conduct community-based technical assistance and training, provide health data analysis and information dissemination, and convene regional and national health conferences.<\/p>\n
Position: HIV Program Manager, Full Time (37.5 hours\/week)<\/p>\n

Job Summary:<\/p>\n
APIAHF\u2019s HIV Program aims to strengthen HIV\/AIDS policy advocacy and increase the effectiveness of HIV\/AIDS services for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander populations throughout the U.S. and U.S. affiliated jurisdictions. APIAHF\u2019s HIV Program conducts policy advocacy on HIV\/AIDS issues relevant for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities and provides capacity building resources and training to community based organizations, state and local health departments and community stakeholders through its organizational development, program development, community mobilization, community planning and policy projects.<\/p>\n
The Program Manager will be responsible for providing management and leadership of the HIV Program. S\/He provides leadership in coordinating, monitoring and evaluating all activities of the program and will supervise Program staff. Working with the HIV Program Director, s\/he is responsible for strategic planning, program development, fund development, staff development and evaluation of the HIV Program. The Program Manager reports directly to the HIV Program Director.<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Coordinate, manage, and monitor overall program objectives and activities<\/p>\n
\u2022 Coordinate, manage and monitor program budget and contracts<\/p>\n
\u2022 Direct the development, implementation and evaluation of the HIV program<\/p>\n
\u2022 Supervise program staff and coach regional partner staff<\/p>\n
\u2022 Write proposals, reports, and policy documents<\/p>\n
\u2022 Serve as liaison with funding sources for contract and program oversight<\/p>\n
\u2022 Develop relationships and projects between CBOs, CBA providers, and researchers<\/p>\n
\u2022 Collect, analyze, and synthesize relevant literature<\/p>\n
\u2022 Lead the national HIV capacity-building assistance program<\/p>\n
\u2022 Travel for work-related meetings and events as necessary<\/p>\n
\u2022 Perform other duties as assigned<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Graduate degree or equivalent experience in health, behavioral science or related fields<\/p>\n
\u2022 Five years project coordination experience<\/p>\n
\u2022 Five years relevant experience working with Asian and\/or Pacific Islander communities, HIV prevention community planning groups, people living with HIV\/AIDS, and\/or HIV\/AIDS issues<\/p>\n
\u2022 Three years relevant experience of providing capacity building assistance on organizational development, HIV prevention community planning, and\/or a related topic area<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated supervision experience<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing programs as well as managing multiple program budgets and contracts<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated meeting facilitation and conference\/meeting planning.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills, including public speaking and writing reports<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based computer programs, including work processing, database management, email, online research, and presentations<\/p>\n
\u2022 Data collection and analysis experience<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to work with diverse communities and community stakeholders<\/p>\n
\u2022 Strong initiative, creativity and motivation, including ability to work under pressure with deadlines<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and organizational skills<\/p>\n
\u2022 Demonstrated experience working effectively in team environment<\/p>\n
\u2022 Ability to travel as part of work responsibilities<\/p>\n
Desired Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Leadership position and experience within local, regional and\/or national Asian American and Pacific Islander community and\/or HIV community.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Bilingual\/Biliterate in an Asian or Pacific Islander language<\/p>\n
