The NSCH is funded and directed by MCHB, with data collection conducted by the Census Bureau. The survey examines the physical and emotional health of children from birth through 17 years of age. Emphasis is placed on factors that may be related to the well-being of children, including medical homes, family interactions, parental health, school experiences, and neighborhood safety.
