\nPosition Description<\/p>\n
JSI provides high-quality technical and managerial assistance to public health programs worldwide. JSI has implemented projects in 102 countries, and currently operates from seven U.S. and 38 international offices. In order to meet current program needs and contribute to the development of new programs, JSI seeks to add additional Senior Advisors to its professional team. The Senior Advisor has responsibility as the senior corporate liaison between JSI headquarters and a portfolio of bilateral field projects and plays a key role in JSI’s project support structure. The position reports to the Director, International Division, JSI\/Boston.<\/p>\n
JSI is recruiting qualified individuals to fill a number of new Senior Advisor positions, with a particular interest in candidates with experience in HIV & AIDS and in reproductive health\/family planning\/child health.<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\uf02d Support project implementation in an advisory capacity and monitor overall progress in achieving project objectives.
\n\uf02d Assure high standards for project management and technical quality and help ensure successful project implementation.
\n\uf02d Manage periodic contact with key clients to seek feedback and guidance.
\n\uf02d Lead field project planning and evaluation processes.
\n\uf02d Assess technical resource needs and identify resources to fill these needs.
\n\uf02d Provide direct technical assistance in areas of expertise.
\n\uf02d Participate in new business development activities.
\n\uf02d Identify program staff and consultants for bilateral programs, both existing and proposed.
\n\uf02d Collaborate with other JSI programs to provide technical and management assistance as required.
\n\uf02d Other duties as assigned.<\/p>\n
Qualifications & Experience<\/p>\n
\uf02d Advanced degree in public health, management, public policy, or related fields
\n\uf02d 5-8 years working in the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of international health projects
\n\uf02d 3-5 years overseas employment experience, preferably in more than one country (Developing country experience is strongly preferred.)
\n\uf02d Strong managerial, organizational and problem-solving skills
\n\uf02d Technical expertise in one or more global health program areas
\n\uf02d Knowledge of the global health donor community
\n\uf02d Ability to work in at least one language in addition to English is desirable
\n\uf02d Strong interpersonal and communication skills
\n\uf02d Ability to establish a team and work as part of it
\n\uf02d Ability to travel internationally up to 40% of the time<\/p>\n
