{"id":2138,"date":"2016-09-08T10:45:41","date_gmt":"2016-09-08T15:45:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mchtulane.wordpress.com\/?p=2138"},"modified":"2016-09-08T10:45:41","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T15:45:41","slug":"job-opening-contraceptive-access-initiative-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thatscourtney.space\/blueprint\/job-opening-contraceptive-access-initiative-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Job opening &#8211; Contraceptive Access Initiative Manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OPH Bureau of Family Health \/ Southeast Louisiana AHEC<\/p>\n<p>BFH Clinical Services Team \u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contraceptive Access Initiative Manager <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The LDH OPH BFH Clinical Services Team seeks a full-time Program Manager for a new statewide Contraceptive Access Initiative (herein referred to as the Initiative) to reduce unintended pregnancy through increased provision of the full range of FDA-approved family planning methods, including highly-effective Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC). The Initiative will seek to engage a wide range of community providers in training, technical assistance, and quality improvement work, as well as to develop and promote policies which support widespread, equitable access to contraception.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in public health, social work, health related field or another field directly related to duties listed below;\n<ul>\n<li>Master\u2019s Degree preferred<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Experience in program design and implementation<\/li>\n<li>Experience in project outreach and promotion<\/li>\n<li>Experience in quality improvement in a health care setting<\/li>\n<li>Experience working with Federally Qualified Health Centers, Rural Health Clinics, and\/or other primary care providers<\/li>\n<li>Strong organizational, oral and interpersonal communication, and writing skills<\/li>\n<li>Competence in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs<\/li>\n<li>Willing to travel locally and nationally for job duties<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Desired Skills, Knowledge, Attitudes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Understanding of women\u2019s reproductive health issues, including and especially the complexities of pregnancy intention and desire, barriers to contraceptive access, the important role of reproductive justice, and health disparities<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of reproductive health care best practices and medical guidelines, particularly the QFP as relates to contraception:\n<ul>\n<li>Patient-centered care &amp; Shared-decision making<\/li>\n<li>Quality counseling and patient education (RLP, MI, Tiered Contraceptive Counseling, Risk Reduction, Teach Back, etc)<\/li>\n<li>Contraceptive methods\/technology including LARCs<\/li>\n<li>Adolescent-friendly reproductive health services<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of Electronic Health Records\/Electronic Practice Management<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of FQHC\/RHC models, practice, regulation, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Strong leadership and management skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to organize, multi-task, prioritize, and delegate appropriately to manage towards aggressive timelines and targets.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to solve problems and make decisions effectively.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to work independently and manage self towards goals, while being a genuine \u201cteam player\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Value team-based work and collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical team members.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community health care providers and agencies to promote and sustain the Initiative<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities &amp; Functions: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Leadership &amp; Strategic Vision\n<ul>\n<li>Set a strategic vision and operational plan for increasing contraceptive access through a coordinated statewide initiative, including both short-term and long-range plans<\/li>\n<li>Effectively communicates with public health agencies and private organizations at the state and local level with the potential to be strategic partners in promoting contraceptive access<\/li>\n<li>Maintains a professional knowledge of elements central to success of the Initiative\u2019s goals\n<ul>\n<li>evidence-based programs and best practices<\/li>\n<li>cultural, social, and behavioral factors that contribute to the issues of unintended pregnancy and contraceptive access<\/li>\n<li>health systems and policy reform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Management &amp; Supervision\n<ul>\n<li>Manage all aspects of Contraceptive Access Initiative, including but not limited to Provider Needs Assessment; Initiative Outreach &amp; Promotion; Provider Recruitment &amp; Retention; Training &amp; Technical Assistance Development and Implementation; Policy Development; Monitoring &amp; Evaluation<\/li>\n<li>Develop comprehensive work plan for Initiative with timeline and targets; monitor progress regularly<\/li>\n<li>Collaborate with BFH Business Operations Unit to develop and monitor budget<\/li>\n<li>Actively identify related funding opportunities to increase sustainability of the Initiative; assist in the preparation of funding applications and reports as needed.<\/li>\n<li>Supervise applicable staff, including but not limited to the Data Coordinator and the Training Coordinator.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Policy\n<ul>\n<li>Lead the development of OPH BFH policy proposals related to contraceptive access<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Relationship-Building &amp;
