About CGSGI
\nEstablished by President Bill Clinton and Canadian philanthropist Frank
\nGiustra in 2007, CGSGI is an innovative partnership between the William
\nJ. Clinton Foundation (the ‘implementing partner’ for CGSGI), the
\nprivate sector, governments, local communities, and NGOs to increase the
\nscale, scope, impact, and sustainability of social and economic
\ndevelopment efforts in countries where the natural resource industries
\nare an important part of the economy.<\/p>\n
CGSGI will build on the Clinton Foundation’s proven track record as an
\noperational NGO in the developing world, and on President Clinton’s
\nability to mobilize political will and spark multi-sectoral cooperation.
\nCurrently, the initiative is being launched in three countries in Latin
\nAmerica-Colombia, Peru, and Mexico. In the coming months, CGSGI will
\nlook to expand its activities into Africa.<\/p>\n
Job Description:
\nThe Director of Monitoring and Evaluation will be expected to develop a
\nstandard approach to identifying, communicating and mitigating risks in
\nsupport of the Initiative’s global agenda as well as for specific
\nprograms and projects. S\/he will also be expected to prepare and
\npresent regular reports on CGSGI’s program outcomes and investment
\nportfolios in a transparent manner to the CEO, Country Managers, and
\nvarious stakeholders.<\/p>\n
The Director of M&E reports to the CEO of CGSGI.<\/p>\n
The position is based in New York City but will require extensive travel
\n(up to 60%) both overseas and domestically.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:
\n* Define and prepare standard performance measures and scorecards
\nfor use globally and locally to monitor and record CGSGI’s progress,
\ngoals and outcomes to stakeholders
\n* Develop an approach to identify, communicate and mitigate risks
\nin support of the CGSGI agenda and specific programs and projects
\n* Consolidate CGSGI’s program and project information on a regular
\nbasis and analyze trends for improvement opportunities
\n* Provide in-house monitoring and evaluation expertise for CGSGI
\n* Conduct independent project and program audits and reviews as
\nneeded to satisfy reporting requirements and stakeholder expectations
\n* Lead and supervise a M&E team focused on the collection,
\nmanagement and use of data to support and improve quality of CGSGI
\nprograms
\n* Provide technical assistance to CGSGI programs, government, and
\norganizational partners to enhance data management systems
\n* Document and disseminate best practices in data management<\/p>\n
Qualifications:
\n* Minimum of 5-10 years relevant work experience (eg. developing
\nperformance measurements for international programs)
\n* Strong collaboration, diplomacy, and negotiation skills.
\n* Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
\n* Demonstrated ability to navigate complex processes with multiple
\nplayers and achieve consensus
\n* Familiarity with development program reporting models,
\napproaches, and performance metrics
\n* Experience in internal and\/or external audit standards,
\npreferably on triple bottom line (TBL) reporting
\n* Understanding of project-specific risk management techniques as
\nwell as broad-based risks associated with working in developing
\ncountries and environments
\n* Experience in a developing world strongly preferred
\n* Sensitivity to other cultures and diversity<\/p>\n
Pluses:
\n* Executive presentation building and delivery skills
\n* Collaborative approach to problem solving and ability to
\nencourage culture of ‘open problem reporting’
\n* Masters in relevant field preferred
\n* Multilingual, preferably in English and Spanish<\/p>\n
