JOB DESCRIPTION<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Women LEAD Nepal is the first and only leadership development organization for young women in Nepal. Since 2011, we have empowered more than 500 female high school students with the skills, support and opportunities needed to become leaders in their schools, communities, and nation. The Development and Evaluation Fellow will work closely with the Executive Director and a cross-cultural team to develop and deliver our fundraising strategy at a critical time of organizational growth and change. In addition, the fellow will work to structure and implement a monitoring and evaluation plan.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
The Fellow must be a talented writer adept at explaining and promoting the importance of our work for a variety of audiences. S\/he will fulfill an important role as we pursue grants and other funding sources, provide essential research for developing our grant prospecting and application strategy. In addition, the fellow will enhance the Women LEAD culture which emphasizes organizational learning, planning, and monitoring. An eagerness to learn and advance on the job is essential, as is an ability to adapt in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, and excel in new challenges. Well-suited candidates should have an interest in the empowerment of girls and women.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to the following (with flexibility to implement other projects of value and interest):<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
GRANT WRITING AND PROSPECTING (30%)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Research and identify potential donors, including corporations, INGOs, foundations and governments; collect information into a regularly updated development calendar.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Write and edit grant proposals (LOIs, cover letters, full grant proposals) using and improving upon existing grant templates. Grants will be sent for final review to the Executive Director.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Ensure grants budgets align with institutional budgets and forecasts.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Monitor and coordinate grant administration, interim and end-of-grant reporting, and oversee compliance with approved budgets, contract terms, and legal or regulatory requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
FUNDRAISING DEVELOPMENT (15%)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Work with the Board and Executive Director to plan and implement a fundraising strategy.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Identify and develop successful local funding strategies and actors, including local corporate sponsorship opportunities and individuals.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Build and maintain relationships with prospective institutional donors in Nepal.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Report on annual fundraising progress, patterns, challenges, etc.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Research and report on trends in philanthropy and institutional giving that may impact approaches to fundraising.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Work closely with the Communications Officer to run our annual crowd-funding campaign.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
DONOR MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION (15%)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Develop a strong understanding of Women LEAD programs and approach to effectively represent Women LEAD at meetings with donors.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Maintain and update donor database and prospect information through database entry and management. Proactively manage all deadlines and ensure key dates and interactions are tracked using Salesforce and iContact.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Assist with donor communication and update fundraising\/communication materials, including creating or improving materials needed for donor solicitations (e.g., letters, presentations, and informational brochures).<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
MONITORING & EVALUATION (30%)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Strengthen and implement the current monitoring system. This could include increased or improved collection systems for qualitative\/quantitative data, establishing indicators, and development of measurement tools<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Create systems to process data through an evaluation plan to analyze program implementation and impact<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Communicate and summarize results and suggested improvements in a manner that is meaning for staff and external stakeholders<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
PUBLIC RELATIONS (10%)<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Represent Women LEAD at off-site events for networking purposes;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Assist with special events planning, outreach and communications;<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Work closely with the Communications Officer in the planning, implementation and evaluation of an annual integrated marketing and communications plan and calendar, for example, WLEAD\u2019s bi-monthly electronic newsletter.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

QUALIFICATIONS:<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>A passion for empowering young women to lead change and participate meaningfully in their country and future.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>At least 1-3 years of progressively successful fundraising experience with proven success in meeting fundraising targets.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Experience with monitoring, evaluation, strategic planning, and\/or data management preferred<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Excellent English language skills and a demonstrated ability to write and present effectively. A willingness to take Nepali language courses is preferred.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Strong computer literacy and an ability to learn new software programs, ie. Salesforce. Experience with research methods, survey design, and statistical analysis software preferred<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Proven ability to be flexible, independently manage time, balance and prioritize simultaneous assignments and meet tight deadlines with a minimal amount of supervision.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Self-motivated with a desire to learn in a cross-cultural context, take initiative and possess confidence to ask questions.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
\uf0b7\u00a0<\/span>Experience and comfort in building and maintaining strong relationships with external partners. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders, such as donors and corporations.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
