Healthy Start New Orleans’ mission is to promote healthy communities by nurturing healthy pregnancies, healthy babies, and healthy communities.\u00a0 We are currently accepting applications for a Community Outreach and Health Education Coordinator.\u00a0 We are looking for a leader who is passionate about the Healthy Start mission to lead our community health worker and health education team.<\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS:\u00a0<\/b><\/span>A Bachelor’s Degree plus one year experience\u00a0<\/span>or<\/span><\/span>\u00a0a Masters in Public Health, Social Work or a\u00a0<\/span>related field. \u00a0Interested candidates should send a cover letter expressing their interest to Karmen McKinley at\u00a0<\/span>klmckinley@nola.gov<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Oversees and coordinates the administrative and operational aspects of community health workers and health education staff ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and federal regulations.<\/li>\n
  2. Plans, develops, implements, and facilitates outreach community events and health education programs for high-risk pregnant and parenting clients and their children.<\/li>\n
  3. Makes logistical arrangements for clinics and other outreach sites including identification of space and location, patient liaison, and\u00a0\u00a0 provision of materials and equipment.<\/li>\n
  4. Provides all necessary administrative support for outreach sites, including participant communication, staff travel arrangements, and maintaining procedure manuals for various operating sites<\/li>\n
  5. Oversees the work of educational and support staff, consultants, and\/or volunteers engaged in program activities, as required to meet the specific objectives of the program<\/li>\n
  6. Performs data entry, maintains records, and develops applicable reports on all outreach activities<\/li>\n
  7. Attends and participates in staff and interagency meetings<\/li>\n
  8. Leads, guides, and trains outreach and health education staff, ensuring overall compliance with HSNO guidelines<\/li>\n
  9. Coordinates the annual performance appraisals of those employees under the direct supervision in a timely manner<\/li>\n
  10. Assists in establishing and implementing short- and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures<\/li>\n
  11. Oversees social media, radio, and other media outreach<\/li>\n
